Ontario gives you four genuinely distinct wedding seasons. Each one delivers something the others can't.
Late spring (May to June). Gardens are at their peak; everything is in bloom; the temperature is forgiving. The trade-off: weather is unpredictable, so always have a Plan B for outdoor ceremonies.
Summer (July to August). Long days, warm evenings, and the strongest selection of outdoor venues. The trade-off: peak demand and peak pricing. Book 12 to 18 months ahead.
Early fall (September to mid October). Many couples consider this Ontario's most beautiful wedding season: turning leaves, soft golden light, comfortable temperatures, and the harvest aesthetic at wineries. The trade-off: also peak demand, and weather turns quickly by mid-October.
Late fall and winter (November to February). Hugely underrated. Indoor venues are widely available, vendor pricing softens, and there's something genuinely magical about a candlelit ceremony in a heritage hall while snow falls outside. The trade-off: travel logistics for guests, and you'll need a strong indoor venue.
Mid-week any season. If you can be flexible on day of the week, mid-week weddings unlock better venue rates, calmer vendors, and more relaxed planning. Especially worth considering at resort venues in the Kawarthas and Northumberland.
There's no wrong season, only the season that fits your vision. Pick the one whose mood you most want to step into.
